About me

My maternal Grandfather's name was George Bennett. I don't know his Blackfoot name. I think it was taken away from him when he was very young. He went to a residential school in Montana. He was born in approximately 1872. He married on the revervation. His son Noble and Noble's wife Nancy lived for many years on the outskirts of Browning, Montana. My grandfather later came to Canada and lived in Northern Saskatchewan for many years. He re-married after his first wife was killed by a run-a-way horse and buggy.

I am an itinerary professor and write and publish poetry. At present, I live in The Pas, Manitoba, where I am teaching mainly First Nations students at a University/College. I teach Aboriginal Literature and Indigenous literature at the university level. I publish books of poetry.

I would like to know more about my grandfather and Noble and his family. If anyone has any information, please let me know.
